Be The One: The American Legion’s Mission to End Veteran Suicide
Every day, far too many veterans face mental health challenges in silence. The American Legion’s “Be the One” campaign is a national movement aimed at preventing veteran suicide by fostering open conversations, reducing stigma, and ensuring that no veteran struggles alone.
What is the “Be the One” Campaign?
The American Legion launched Be the One to bring awareness to the pressing issue of veteran suicide. The initiative provides education, support, and critical resources to help veterans and their communities take action.
- Destigmatizing Mental Health – Encouraging open discussions about mental health and seeking help.
- Peer-to-Peer Support – Equipping veterans with tools to support one another.
- Public Education – Teaching communities to recognize the signs of crisis and connect veterans with the right resources.
How You Can Get Involved
